However, it falls short in providing a watertight seal, potentially requiring additional taping or sealant. If watertight connections are a priority, you might want to consider other alternatives for a more reliable seal. **Top pro:** Provides a secure and firm connection for 4" corrugated drain pipes. **Top con:** Not completely watertight, which is critical for some applications. ## Product: Mutual Industries Snap Coupler 4" **Brand:** Mutual Industries [Compare prices and price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/mutual-industries-snap-coupler-4") ## Pros - Provides a secure and firm connection for 4" corrugated drain pipes. - Easier repairs of existing in-ground pipes by effectively joining sections from different manufacturers. - Quick and easy installation with a few clicks, making it user-friendly. - Allows for easy application of sealant to enhance leak-proof capabilities. - Superior adhesion compared to duct tape, holding ends together securely. - Keeps pipe sections well-aligned with a more solid fit compared to outer collar types. ## Cons - Not completely watertight, which is critical for some applications. - May require additional sealing, such as with OpticPVC or heavy-duty duct tape, to avoid leaks. - Connection can feel slightly loose without reinforcement, leading to dissatisfaction. - Design flaws allow water to escape between the drain pipe and the fitting. - Deemed ineffective for its intended purpose by some users due to frequent leaks at the joint. ## Pros vs Cons at a Glance | Pros | Cons | |------|------| | Provides a secure and firm connection for 4" corrugated drain pipes. | Not completely watertight, which is critical for some applications. | | Easier repairs of existing in-ground pipes by effectively joining sections from different manufacturers. | May require additional sealing, such as with OpticPVC or heavy-duty duct tape, to avoid leaks. | | Quick and easy installation with a few clicks, making it user-friendly. | Connection can feel slightly loose without reinforcement, leading to dissatisfaction. | | Allows for easy application of sealant to enhance leak-proof capabilities. | Design flaws allow water to escape between the drain pipe and the fitting. | | Superior adhesion compared to duct tape, holding ends together securely. | Deemed ineffective for its intended purpose by some users due to frequent leaks at the joint. | | Keeps pipe sections well-aligned with a more solid fit compared to outer collar types. | | ## Last Seen Prices *Each price is the last one ShopSavvy observed, on 2024-11-25;
